History
Established in late 2012 by former college classmates John Tabis (CEO) and Juan Pablo Montúfar (Chief Floral Officer). Tabis, a brand and strategy executive formerly with Disney, and Montúfar, a third-generation farmer, started The Bouqs Company to radically disrupt the $100B global floral industry through a modern brand, responsibly-sourced flowers and a vertically-integrated supply chain.
The Bouqs Company has raised $43.1M to date, with prominent investors including Partech Ventures, Azure Capital Partners, Draper Associates, KEC Ventures, Quest Venture Partners and Enspire Capital.
The company appeared on Shark Tank on May 2, 2014 but did not receive investment capital from any of the judges. In 2016, "Shark" Robert Herjavec became an investor after working with the company to do florals for his wedding to Dancing With the Stars' Kym Johnson.
